Stevens Reed Curcio & Potholm, a Republican media consulting firm, announced that John Hishta, a former aide to Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.), and Ben Burger, a senior vice president at the firm, have been named partners.
Hishta is joining the firm after serving as managing director of Mercury Public Affairs’ Washington office. There, he was responsible for developing and carrying out lobbying efforts for the corporation at the federal, state and local level. He also has ample Hill experience.
He was chief of staff to Davis and was Sen. John Warner’s campaign manager during the Virginia Republican’s 1996 reelection bid. He was also the executive director of the National Republican Congressional Committee, which was chaired by Davis during the 2000-2002 cycle.
Burger has been with Stevens Reed Curcio since 1995, when he joined as a client manager.
Throughout his tenure, Burger has worked on several successful campaigns both for candidates and for independent expenditure clients. Before joining the firm, he was deputy political director for the 1994 cycle at the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
